The success of the American Revolution and the French Revolution, as well as Enlightenment changed ideas about who should control the government. In Latin America, most of the people resented the domination of European colonial powers.

The main cause of Latin American revolution was the self-sufficiency of countries

The citizens were not too pleased with the social system anymore

One of the main reasons for revolution in Latin America would be an increase in nationalism among the people

The uprising of British colonies in North America was stimulated by many taxes and Acts. This enraged colonists, and encouraged American Revolution. Moreover, the colonists in North America were enlightened and capable to start a government of their own. These causes along with many other causes resulted in revolution of Latin America

French Revolution and Latin american revolution

The French Revolution has often been credited with fanning the revolutionary flames that swept through Latin America at the turn of the nineteenth century. It thus seems logical that the struggle against Spain was conditioned by the ideas and events that caused the upheaval in France, and that the great liberators of the continent, men like Simon Bolivar and Jose de San Martin, were inspired by political tremors from across the sea.

The success of the American Revolution and the French Revolution, as well as Enlightenment changed ideas about who should control the government. In Latin America, most of the people resented the domination of European colonial powers. Also, many of the lower class people were oppressed and disliked the fact that they were of a lower station than others, simply because they were not born in Spain.

France had a few good revolutionist like marquis De Lafayette, but since there conventions were public, the crowd would start yelling so they could not be heard. But the real reason was they were not ready to be a free people, that was because they were not moral and virtuous. Most did not even believe in God, which if you look in the American revolution everyone of the founders believed God, and a high percentage of the American people also believed in God.

At a packed meeting trade union activists, Latin American solidarity campaigners and immigrant rights organisations came together to discuss how to build solidarity with Latin American workers in Britain who are organising for trade union rights at work. Dave Esterson reports.
