Cuban Missile Crisis

1)Why did the narrator say the, "citizens of the United States can breathe  once again"

2) Cuba is only 90 miles from United States soil. Why is this important information?  Explain your answer.

1.)Because russia said they will try to stop building missiles in cuba.
