In part he was aided by the world-wide economic depression of the 30's. Hitler said the words that the Germans wanted to hear.

well after WW1 many german soldiers felt they had been betrayed (stabbed in the back) by the coalition Wiemar Government. Hitler was one of them, (interesting fact Hitler was awarded the Iron Cross for his service in WW1)

after the war the German Workers' Party was formed by Anton Drexler, along with six other members. The german authorities then sent Hitler to investigate the party, however the party decided to invite hitler to join after being impressed by his speaking ability. Hitler joined the party in September 1919, and he became the propaganda boss.

The party was renamed the National Socialist German Workers’ Party on February 24, 1920. Hitler then ousted the leader Drexler and became the party leader on July 29, 1921.

While leader Hitler tried to gain support of the German public however because times in germany were getting better and they were satisfied with the Wiemar Government they did not want to hear about Hitlers radical ideas

Benito Mussolini had many goals to be a great dictator but un like Adolf Hitler, Mussolini was un able to gain complete control and was a failure. He wasn’t rely trying to make the country a great and better place but instead was power hungry. Always changing his mind to try to stay in power. His only goal was to have great wealth and power. That he may in some way get back at the things in his past he hated. So that he could prove to himself that he has made something of himself.

Benito Mussolini became powerful around 1932. Mussolini's rise to power began in World War One when he was involved with Italy on behalf of the Allies. There were many problems about whether or not such involvement was necessary and the Socialist Party opposed the addition of Italian Arms to the forces of the Allies. Benito Mussolini, a Socialist journalist, originally agreed with his party in regards to the war, but a few months after the start of the war he changed his opinion and left the Socialist Party. After leaving the Socialist Party he founded a fascist newspaper, Popola d'Italia, and several fascist groups, the Autonomous Fascists, the Constituent Fascists, the Revolutionary Fascists, and the Fighting Fascists.

Adolf Hitler tried to take over the government many times but failed. After his time spent in prison, he figured out a way to overthrow the government. instead of taking power by force, he used the constitutional way. he used the democratic system and won hearts by giving rallies and giving speeches, changing their mind-set and having the people go on his side.
