The Roaring Twenties is a phrase used to describe the 1920s, principally in North America but also in London, Paris and Berlin. The phrase was meant to emphasize the period's social, artistic, and cultural dynamism. 'Normalcy' returned to politics in the wake of World War I, jazz music blossomed, the flapper redefined modern womanhood, Art Deco peaked, and finally the Wall Street Crash of 1929 served to punctuate the end of the era, as The Great Depression set in. The era was further distinguished by several inventions and discoveries of far-reaching importance, unprecedented industrial growth, accelerated consumer demand and aspirations, and significant changes in lifestyle.

The social and cultural features known as the Roaring Twenties began in leading metropolitan centers, especially New York, Paris and Berlin, then spread widely in the aftermath of World War I. The United States gained dominance in world finance. Thus when Germany could no longer afford war reparations to Britain, France and other Allies, the Americans came up with the Dawes Plan and Wall Street invested heavily in Germany, which repaid its reparations to nations that in turn used the dollars to pay off their war debts to Washington. By the middle of the decade, prosperity was widespread. The second half of the decade becoming known as the "Golden Twenties". In France and francophone Canada, they were also called the "années folles" ("Crazy Years").[1]

The 1920s era is also known by names such as the Jazz Age, the Age of Intolerance, and the Age of Wonderful Nonsense. This time has embodied the beginning of modern America. These times occured after WWI as well as after an influenza epidemic both ending in 1918. The decade of bath tub gin, the model T, jazz music, the first transatlantic flight, and the first movie. Also a time of new ideas especially from physicist and psychologist Eintsein and Freud.
A new woman was born. She smoked, drank, danced, and voted. She cut her hair, wore make-up, and went to petting parties. This was also a time of fads. Mini skirts and whatsnot. This was a time of good as well as bad. People were losing money from their stocks and it finally hit. Black Friday. The day of which the stock market crashed. Times were good for a while but money wasnt good. Well, how can money be good if there is none. Banks were broke too. Things were bad. This was the Roaring 20s.

the roaring 20's was a period of the new musical "jazz" era. It took place after the world war one. America used music to rejoice on the winnings of the world war one.

Not only did the roaring twenties take place in the united states, it took place in London, Paris, and Berlin.there were many factors of the aftermath of the great depression. the female sex soon became flapper girls, which consisted of hair that was waved and short flary dresses and the era of jazz many people influenced alcohol. however, the era ended when the great depression started in the late 1920"s
